Sir – I have just finished reading the article in the Worcester News (Tuesday, November 3) with regard to illegal parking and parking restrictions in and around St John’s, especially around the university area.
I have every sympathy with residents in this area, but I must say this is not the only area within the city that is affected by illegal parking.
Travel either way along Malvern, Bromyard, Bransford and Henwick Roads and you will face cars parked on both sides of the highway. Some are parked illegally on the pedestrian footpaths.
There is the same scenario all across the city. Ask any- one who lives on London Road, Redhill, Wyld’s Lane, Midland Road and so on.
Has anyone even considered the people living in and around Brittania Square, Loves Grove and Moor Street? The parking problems will be heading their way in the not too distant future when the new university campus and the city library open.
It is typical of the likes of all the city and county councillors and even Mike Foster – ‘Let’s go and do a quick fix just to pacify the people of Worcester’.
It’s about time they stopped burying their heads in the sand and did something worthwhile for Worcester in general.
