SIR - In response to the recent letter from Albert Thomas regarding the Plough in Worcester, I also wish the new landlord well and raise a pint to the old landlord Tony.
But I have to challenge Albert's view that the Plough is like any other younger-feel pub. Has Albert been to Lloyds No.1, which I would say is a younger feel pub that also sells real ales? The Plough is nothing like this. There is a good mix of people attending the Plough from all walks of life and all ages. I often bump into people in the Plough who used to come in when Tony was the landlord and they are all in favour of the changes that have been made.
The real ale atmosphere certainly has not gone, though Albert's complaints about the smoky atmosphere will soon disappear with the new smoking laws.
BILL OTTAWAY,
Worcester.
