SIR - So the local safety camera partnership is to stop telling us where the mobile speed cameras are. That is an admission that they are more interested in catching speeding motorists and deriving income from them than promoting safety.
Perhaps, like me, we are getting wiser and thinking more about our speeds in built up areas and lessening the income they derive to pay their fat salaries?
If we were all to do this at all times they would go broke. To counter this they choose to go under cover. I would bet a week's wages that they are increasing the number of mobile cameras and are afraid of the bad publicity.
I have another criticsm of the safety camera partnership. Why is it that the local magistrates association is members? They should be neutral when it comes to administering the law shouldn't they?
I would not rate my chances of a fair hearing by a magistrate under these circumstances. It would be the same as having a serving policeman as judge in their own court.
