SIR - I find it quite strange that the Deputy Prime Minister had been able to keep two grace-and-

favour houses and a £600,000 annual salary and a guaranteed large pension.

This is obscene when you consider that two months ago, I was advised by the pensions department that as from next March, I will receive the princely sum of 25p added to my pension because I will hopefully by then have reached the age of 80.

This is an insult to the over-80s pensioners when a member of the Government who has committed adultery gets a vast annual wage and a guaranteed pension.

How I wonder anyone can manage on an increase of 25 pence extra a week, I can't imagine.

I can't get my hair cut for less than £5, so how would John Prescott manage on 25 pence extra a week? It doesn't even cover the cost of a condom.

Worcester.
