SIR - Apparently, the police are engaged in a search for deadly bombs of Anthrax or something comparable. In the search process one suspect individual was injured, probably by an accomplice. As usual, the usual suspect so-called do-gooders are more concerned about one alleged victim of the police than with the threat of the massacre of many thousands of innocents.

How can the police operate effectively in such a lunatic atmosphere?

More than 60 years ago the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were laid waste, causing many thousands of deaths. The moral principle applied was that the loss of millions later on was avoided by killing those thousands. That principle was morally correct and such principle should still apply today.
