SIR - Your headline last week showed proposed sites for 10,000 new homes on greenfield sites all around Worcester. A few nights ago, your headline tells of massive cuts in the health service to reduce the budget deficit at our new hospital.
So how on earth do the powers-that-be reconcile these plans? The hospital is woefully inadequate to meet the needs of Worcester's population as it stands - not only is it taking on an increasing number of outlying areas as National Health trusts struggle to maintain targets, now it appears it's going to have to cope with a massive population influx. It seems the front- line staff are to bear the brunt of the cuts, so God help us if we need hospital treatment in the next decade
