SIR – So, Mike Ruddock is on his way.

Various reports quoted Mike as saying “The Gods have not been with us.”

For all the other loyal supporters who were at Leeds it wasn’t the Gods it was the quality of players and play that let us down, as has been the case for a long time now. It was not the “precision” and “execution,” as the ex-director of rugby said. It’s been about basic ability and the absence of quality and flair that has done for us. After three years of Mike’s leadership, Warriors have the cutting edge of a wooden spoon!

Now Cecil has the toughest of decisions. Perhaps Mike Catt as the stimulating leader with John Brain to rebuild the forwards’ performance to that of four years ago would be the dream ticket.

Good luck, Mike, in what you do next, we wish you well. Everyone with an interest in our rugby club will fully support and enjoy our recovery season hugely, as we look forward to moving on with new momentum next year, with that new authority that change at the top will bring.

C’ mon, you Warriors and Cecil, choose well.
