SIR – John Burgess seems to be on his old hobby horse again, repeating the same thing over and over again in the hope that someday someone will believe him.
Obviously he is entitled to his opinion but he must remember that the same applies to others.
Some very intelligent people have expressed opposite views and have been labelled by him as “not understanding.” Mr Burgess objects to the term “blood lust” preferring the term “animal welfare”.
Some horrifying acts of wanton cruelty have been researched and well documented by the Huntingdon Commission but have been decried by Mr Burgess as “accidental” or “minor.” He obviously hopes the election has provided MPs ready to overturn “this bad Act,” as he puts it. The only thing bad about it is that hunters are wilfully going against the law and getting away with it.
Surely the new administration will have far more important matters to attend to rather than pandering to a voracious minority and they will bow to the opinion of the 73 per cent majority of intelligent people.
