SIR – Regarding Dave Skelton’s letter (May 12) concerning Oklahoma! at Malvern Theatres not being viewed as impressive by Lauren Rogers (May 8).
I wholeheartedly agree that the WODYS’ production at the Swan Theatre was superb and deserved critical acclaim. Can I add that the cost of the seats at the show were £12 with a £1.50 ticket sale, whereas seats for the Malvern Theatres production were £24.50 for the cheapest, plus £2.50 ticket sales.
It is important to bear in mind the cost of Malvern Theatre in comparison with the Swan as prices play a big part in “bums on seats” these days.
