SIR – In his letter ‘Hospital staff have always been excellent’ (Worcester News, July 26) Phil Pegler told us of his good fortune in “going private”.

Lucky old you, Phil, but would you care to give us your thoughts on the morality of pushing to the front of the queue for the services of the NHS surgeon who treated you in just a couple of weeks instead of the many months the rest of us have to wait?
