SIR – On Wednesday, July 27, at about 11.20am in St Swithin’s Street, Worcester, I witnessed what perhaps was the most blatant discrimination against the Disability Equality Act 2010.
With the legal amount of vans, trucks and illegally parked taxis, disabled visitors to Worcester, unless noticing the small parking restriction signage high up on the wall, could perhaps be excused for thinking that they, as blue badge holders, could also park among the many taxis and white vans that frequent the loading/unloading bay.
On the Wednesday in question, I did not see a traffic warden between 9.55am and 11.20am.
When one did arrive she completely ignored the four taxis illegally parked in the same loading bay and wrote a parking ticket for a car clearly displaying a blue badge.
