SIR – Re L Presley’s letter ‘Come on, let’s have letters of interest’ (Worcester News, October 5).
I agree entirely except that he only mentions Messrs Cowley, Shearon and Pegler, which seems unfair; there are other culprits.
Without intending any alcohol-related slur on the named gentlemen, I am reminded of Pam Ayre’s poem about her husband, ‘He’ll trap you in the corner with his alcoholic breath, and stab you with a finger as he bores you to death’.
On the subject of words which undermine my will to live, I am sick and tired of hearing politicians of all complexions wittering on about “hard-working”
families.
Let’s hear it for industrious singles and lazy people. It’s one big society now, and we’re all in it together, aren’t we?
