SIR – On behalf of the Campaign for Learning, I would like to thank all the local and community organisations who took part in this year’s Family Learning Festival.
Parental involvement in their children’s learning is the single most important determinant for educational achievement, so that is why the opportunities provided by organisations for the festival are so important.
This year, a focus for the festival was ‘understanding the digital world’.
To recognise the importance of this area there is a special award for the best activity, supported by Toshiba, and we invite all organisations who ran digital events to enter for the award.
Next year’s festival will take place from October 13- 28, 2012.
We hope once again local organisations will join us in supporting children and families to enjoy and benefit from learning together.
