SIR – How wonderful to see the Upton Bridge painted and decorated in such a festive way for Christmas.
It was worth the six arduous and thought provoking weeks of traffic controls to see the finished product.
I felt just like ‘Noddy’ returning to Toy town the first time I crossed the finished article.
Unfortunately, as with all Christmas decorations, the bridge will have to be repainted in the new year along with the reintroduction of those useful traffic lights.
I only hope Big Ears will approve.
