SIR – May we thank G B Dipper for his letter (Worcester News, March 5) in which he raised an excellent question.
He asked why Education Secretary Michael Gove is about to clamp down on parents who take their children out of school during term times for a holiday.
Are we to understand that at the same time he will impose fines on all the profiteers who more than double their rates at all school holiday periods? The Government did talk about stopping this practice. Is that what it was, just talk?
In the meantime, the parents are in a no-win situation, caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
