SIR – It’s not very often I agree with the Lib Dems because usually they are facing two ways and I can’t understand what they stand for, but on one subject I’m inclined to agree with Nick Clegg.
He wants to reform the House of Lords, which is the right thing to do because there are 800 of them now and they can claim £300 a day just for turning up.
Compare this with jobseekers allowance which is £55 a week.
So, Nick, although I agree with you and the Lords should be reformed, I think you are on another loser because turkeys won’t vote for Christmas.
