SIR – How David Cameron and his Government must wished they had listened to the people now.
How things have come back to haunt him: the so-called granny tax and pasty tax, increasing taxes for the poor while cutting taxes for the rich, the promises to hold an EU referendum and curb mass immigration.
Mr Cameron looked a little suprised at losing so many seats last week in the local elections. Amazing.
He has arrogantly ignored the people who voted him there in the first place.
The Tories have had their noses bloodied, perhaps this might jolt them into realising that the public want things sorted – and quick.
But the fact that Mr Cameron hasn’t bothered to open his eyes for the past two years to witness the public’s anger doesn’t bode well. Will he now?
Could Mr Cameron raise a family on a joint income of £17,000?
I doubt it, but his Eton associates expect others to do so and be happy with it.
There isn’t a person in the country who hasn’t been kicked in the teeth by this Government.
We have 22 per cent youth unemployment, two million people living below the poverty line, OAPs being stripped of their savings and terrified of never being able to afford care home fees.
Mr Cameron, change direction, and do it now.
