SIR – Rule 243 in the Highway Code says “you must not stop or park opposite or within 10 metres (32ft) of a junction”.
One would think this was obvious but all too often drivers are guilty of this offence because they are ignorant, too lazy or because there is nowhere else to park.
Why has it taken council money (ours) to get the junctions of Ivy Street with Lavender Road and Park Avenue in Barbourne, Worcester, painted with double yellow lines?
In the days of the bobby on the beat this would soon have been rectified. Those were the days.
