SIR – It could only be in England where thousands of people would be willing to miss their evening meal to turn out onto the pavements to celebrate the winning of the Premier League on goal difference by what they still think is their club [Manchester City].
Their club is owned by foreigners, managed by a foreigner and has a team of foreign players.
What has happened to our home-grown talent?
The cavalcade of foreigners was escorted by hundreds of our scarce and nurtured police, together with police cars and equipment.
We’re deprived of seeing them on the beat these days, but at least they are still in existence.
