SIR – Former Mayor of Worcester David Tibbutt told us to be proud of our city (Worcester News, May 7) with a picture of the bridge to illustrate the story.
There used to be lovely flowers all along the bridge and down the side of the river but they are no longer there.
The reason is, I’ve been told, is we cannot afford them.
One of our oldest and most popular places with tourists is drab and a disgrace.
How can this be a city to be proud of when they waste money chopping down trees and then replacing them?
My sister lives down by the river she says the flowers stopped being planted about two years ago.
Please let’s make our lovely old bridge look good again with flowers for everyone, including those people who visit the city, to see.
