SIR – Re your Comment ‘Charity set up to help feed the hungry’ (Worcester News, June 5). It referred to your story about the setting up of a food bank in Worcester to combat hunger due to poverty in Worcestershire and Britain today.
There is another similar organisation called the magic breakfast organisation. It provides a breakfast to children who go to school hungry.
The organisers provide a meal for 6,000 kids a day but have to turn away many hungry kids for lack of funds.
We give £2 million an hour, every hour, 365 days a year to the EU.
Yet the magic breakfast has to struggle on. If I could I’d give the food bank and the magic breakfast the money for one day that we give to the EU.
How many hungry kids would that feed?
