SIR – I must write about your front page story ‘Tattoo ban for war hero’ (Worcester News, June 1).
Whatever did that young hero think when he was refused entry into a night club?
James Thomas, a war hero, should have the key to our city and let into anywhere he likes, tattoos or no tattoos.
Mr Thomas has earned his right to that; good for him for keeping cool and going home.
The nightclub who banned him should be ashamed.
They say it’s because he didn’t adhere to their dress code but that’s a laugh.
What about what happens at 2am in the morning when the young people are out on the streets too drunk to stand and land up in A&E or wasting police time fighting.
The young soldier has been through a lot and should be given more respect from door staff. I wish him all the best for his future – and all the surviving soldiers in Afghanistan.
PS, I hope Mr Thomas gets his free drink from the nightclub.
