SIR – Seventy per cent of Worcester News readers responding to your online poll would only pay one per cent tax if they could get away with it.
Can we assume that these readers would prefer to make their own arrangements for health and social care, education, pensions and benefits for themselves and their families through private insurance and savings?
Or is it expected that the 30 per cent who see paying tax as a social responsibility should pay for the services used by the 70 per cent who don’t?
