SIR – Britain is a leading shareholder in the world bank, which has given Argentina £10.4 billion in loans.
Argentina has been flexing its muscles over the Falkland Islands again recently As long as Argentina continues to act in this way we should stop all loans to it with immediate effect.
The US will oppose any new loan to Argentina after it failed to respect its obligations to earlier lenders We should simply follow such an example.
