SIR – I am becoming somewhat annoyed concerning the continual articles in the Worcester News about Lord Faulkner of Worcester which, to those with no knowledge of him, gives the impression that he is a Worcester boy made good.
In fact this is not the case and I would point out that (a) he was born in Manchester, (b) educated in Hertfordshire, (c) then went to Worcester College, Oxford, which is no doubt where his adopted title came from, and (d) stood without success four times for Parliament as an MP in places nowhere near our area.
So can we please hear less about him and more about genuine local people.
MAURICE FRANCIS
