SIR – Letter writer N Taylor asks “Is the Green Party in favour of the United Kingdom being governed in whole, or in part by Europe?” (Worcester News , August 20).
The simple answer is no.
The Green Party is opposed to centralised top-down control, opposed to the lack of democracy and emphatically opposed to a single European currency.
We are in favour of countries working together to ensure peace in Europe as well as creating minimum standards for environmental protection and the protection of animal and human rights.
Hopefully, N Taylor would agree that a radical change in Europe is needed, though perhaps we have different views on how this change is achieved.
The Green Party is commited to changing the system from within by working very closely with the elected Green MEPs from other countries.
