SIR – Re ‘Builder’s joy after houses get the go-ahead’ (Worcester News , August 21).

I’d like to clarify a couple of the inferences within the article.

When a planning appeal is made, the appellant (Bovis Homes in this instance) and the council are responsible for meeting their own costs unless either party specifically makes an application for their costs to be paid by the other party.

Bovis Homes made no such application, either at or after our successful appeal.

The article also implies that we have just started building on the site of the old Army Medals Office, but in fact we did have permission to build the first phase of homes and the appeal related to the balance of the site.

The first phase of Harrison Park started in the spring and the process of transformation of this once derelict site is well under way.

Our five-bed show home is open at Harrison Park and is proving to be one of the most popular outlets in our whole region.

We’e delighted to be building in Droitwich and look forward to building on our positive relationship with the local community.
