SIR – It’s odd that Robbie Porter, chairman of the Community Engagement Forum feels it necessary to comment about the Perdiswell cemetery.
The politically correct title of his organisation doesn’t give confidence concerning his views about the facility and the background to a situation he really knows nothing about.
I, and many others, are well aware that Allah Ditta has shown a great commitment (beyond two of his children being buried there) to making the cemetery a suitable and respectful place where anyone would feel comfortable for a deceased relation to be laid to rest.
Over the years, few people have stepped forward to take responsibility, while Ditta has literally been available at all hours of day and night to help anyone in need.
In my opinion his good nature and hard work have been taken advantage of for a long time.
Ditta is also man enough to acknowledge fault, and to apologise for what he said.
