SIR – I’m sure most voters in Worcester are delighted to learn that the Worcester Muslim Welfare Association will be tightening up management arrangements for their cemetery.

This is clearly to be welcomed. Now we wait for confirmation that Allah Ditta will be having nothing whatsoever to do with this important service in the future.

Other questions still need answering. Last week on the BBC Mr Ditta claimed that the family whose relative he had threatened to dig up had agreed to settle his £400 ‘fee’.

However, speaking to the Worcester News the family has made it clear that they have no intention of doing so.

In fact, they are considering making a complaint to the standards committee.

We must therefore assume that Mr Ditta has completely misunderstood the family’s position.

Perhaps it would help if they had an itemised invoice?

After all it’s important to know what precisely you’re paying for.

One other point. Mr Ditta’s position as an elected councillor is clearly indefensible but his party leaders refuse to take any action.

The reason is obvious. If the Tories lose Ditta, they lose Worcester.

If Allah Ditta had any decency at all he would resign his seat and let the people decide whether he’s fit to represent them.
