SIR – I have to question your Comment that congestion on the A4440 will only be dealt with by making it dual carriageway (Worcester News , August 28). You can make it four lanes if you want and it will make no difference. If you cannot distribute the traffic at either end quickly then it will not help.
The western bypass needs to have flyovers at all the junctions and adequate distribution of traffic at both ends. Once the traffic keeps moving the problem is over.
