SIR – Like so many others I am deeply concerned about the Allah Ditta affair and the invoice for £400 handed to Ruhal Hussain for care of his father’s grave.
Allah Ditta is both a Worcester City and a Worcestershire county councillor.
Any responsible representative of the people of Worcester would have offered to stand aside from his public duties until a full inquiry had taken place into the incident.
Failure by Allah Ditta to do this should result in the Conservative groups on both Worcester city and Worcestershire county council suspending him, at least temporarily, from their groups.
The Conservatives on Worcestershire County Council will still hold a huge majority over all other parties, but at least they will have acted responsibly.
The Conservativecontrolled Worcester City Council, on the other hand, would then be in the embarrassing position of having to rely on a suspended group member to get their policies through.
