SIR – I would like to thank the drivers who stopped to help when I fell off my moped on Wednesday, August 29.

One was a nurse, and another a GP – how lucky for me!

I was pretty confused at the time so I didn’t get a chance to thank them for their kind assistance. I wasn’t too badly hurt – bumps, bruises, cuts and concussion – but the bike was later stolen from the roadside, which hurt me far more than taking a tumble because it had just been restored and repainted, and I’d done all the work myself.

So thank you for stopping and making sure I was OK.

ALISON THOULD
