SIR – I was extremely disappointed that your inaccurate, emotive report ‘CCTV cameras installed in toilets at two schools’ (Worcester News , September 12) was incorrect and was, I felt, a deliberately mischievous headline.
Christopher Whitehead does not have, as said by yourselves, CCTV cameras in changing rooms.
CCTV has only monitored washbasins for the last three years, not the toilets.
With more than 2,000 customers a week using the school after the school closes at 5pm we deem this a sensible precaution.
Your article was unpleasant with “schools need to come clean about why they are using these cameras” being one particularly offensive quotation.
To protect and maintain our excellent facilities and keep all safe is my ‘glib’ reply.
