SIR – How glad I was to read that contestant Scott Brown, who won £50,000 on the game show Deal or no Deal, decided to spend it all before his ex-wife could lay claim to any of it.

Why, once separated, should ex-partners be allowed to claim money from their former partners?

Once separated, that should be it.

The dreaded CSA already gets its fangs into parents, sucking up as much money as it can. Yet is there any proof that the money goes for the child or is it simply squandered by the mother?

Surely receipts can be obtained for the items the money is spent on?
