SIR - I was appalled at your article and accompanying opinion concerning car clamping in the Worcester News. You appear to be suggesting that we should sympathise with this man because he is both hard up and an ex-serviceman. I find this hard to understand and insulting.
The issue of being a veteran is completely irrelevant and implies they have the right to ignore the rights of others if it suits them. These are not the values for which people such as my late father-in-law thought he was fighting, and suffering as a PoW.
Here is a man who has made a conscious decision to ignore a large and brightly illustrated sign stating in plain English the need for the owners' express permission to park.
He went ahead and suffered the threatened consequence. So why should I sympathise with him? Just because he is a car owner? So am I, but I park legally.
HELEN PLENTY, Claines.
