A BAKER has found his natural family after a 27-year search living on the other side of London.

Bob Corner, 47, who works at the Safeway bakery, in Petts Wood, was adopted at the age of two and started looking for his biological mother when he was 20.

Sifting through library archives and public records never gave him much to go on besides the fact his mums name was Marjorie Burrows.

The break came when a friend gave him a list of websites which he thought may be useful. Mr Corner, of Aspen Close, Swanley, said: It was the last site on the list and as it was a site for missing persons I really wasnt expecting much.

I typed in my name, but there were no results, when I tried Robert Burrows there was just one match.

Two days before Christmas my daughter called me to the phone saying someone wanted to speak to me.

The woman on the other end said her name was Sandra Porter and she was my half-sister. I couldnt believe it, as a matter of fact it still hasnt quite sunk in.

Mr Corner found out he has two half-sisters and two half-brothers. Sandra lives in Leicester while one brother and the other sister are living in Maidenhead. Mr Corner said: All this time they were only 45 minutes away on the M25. My other brother lives in Hong Kong.

Mr Corner says he has met his three siblings in the UK individually, but hopes to see all of them together at his sisters birthday celebrations later this year. He added: I was nervous meeting them all, but I really felt as if I knew them all my life.

After speaking to them I finally know why I was given up for adoption and I know my mother who has died before I could find her never forgot me.

The family still hopes to find Marjories sister, Jean Burrows.
