A VEGAN café has launched a limited-edition drink to support a fundraiser in aid of an animal welfare charity.

Alan Nuckowski, trustee for the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch, will be putting his fitness to the test and and facing his fears when he walks the Crib Goch route up Mt Snowdon, in Wales, one of the most challenging in the country due to its very narrow knife-edge ridge.

Be The Change has created the ‘Snowdon Latte’ which will be sold for £3 throughout May, with 60p of those funds being donated to the animal welfare organisation.

Mr Nuckowski, aged 68, of Kempsey, near Worcester, whose cat Mr Crunchie was rescued by the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch, is aiming to raise £2,500, adding: “I am thankful to Be The Change for choosing to support my fundraiser. Their act of generosity couldn’t have come at a better time, as the centre needs to afford high veterinary expenses for seven Persian cats in very poor conditions.

“In order to thank supporting Snowdon Latte customers, reward stamp cards will be offered at the cafe. Anyone that collects ten stamps can receive a free gift by visiting me at the RSPCA branch.”

Anthony Chesher, founder of Be The Change, said: “Animal welfare is a top priority for Be The Change and its customers. We saw the Snowden Latte initiative as a key opportunity to do more about a cause we care about. We have already received extremely positive and encouraging feedback from our visitors and we look forward to seeing this campaign evolving.”

The charity is a self-funding branch of the RSPCA that relies primarily on public donations. All proceeds will contribute to supporting the centre in rescuing and rehoming pets in need, supporting veterinary bills as well as conducting welfare work.
