A RESIDENT says she feels frustrated over an ‘abandoned’ car which has been parked outside her flat for a year and a half.

Katie Share claims the red Peugeot has been left outside her home in Sansome Place, Worcester, since September 2018.

She says residents have previously contacted the Worcester City Council, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) and the police to get the car removed.

She added: “Agencies are re-routing residents to different agencies and refusing to help.”

A sign has been placed outside on the car’s rear window, which reads: “Warning: Hit this vehicle at your own rick. Your claim will be void.

“Abandoned on a public highway and the police, council and DVLA do not want to know.

“Remind me again what happens when we delay a council tax demand…”

The sign also alleges that the car has not been taxed, had a MOT, or been insured for the past three years.

Miss Share, aged 23, said: “The car has not been moved for over a year.

“We don’t know whose car it is.

“We have not got assigned car spaces. However, the car is parked in a space for residents of the flats - so it is taking up a car parking space.

“The biggest frustration is parking in the area.

“Parking is so limited as it is, so this car has taken up an entire space.

“It’s always a struggle to park outside my own home.”

Miss Share claims the car has been in the same spot since she moved into her flat.

She added: “I have contacted the council, but they just tell me to speak to my landlord, however, the car parked in Sansome Place has got nothing to do with my landlord.”

A spokesman from Worcester City Council said: “This vehicle is on private land, so it is a matter for the landowner.”

Miss Share said: “The thing that has annoyed me most is the rubbish response from the council.

“I have spoken to a few of the residents about this and I am not the only one who has contacted the council with this complaint.”

A spokesman from DVLA said: “Abandoned vehicles are dealt with by local authorities.

“We operate a comprehensive package of enforcement measures against untaxed vehicles and not all of these measures are visible.”
