FOUR men are due to be charged in connection with an assault in Worcester when they appear today.

Asfandyar Kiani, Brennan Kilner, Mohammed Raja and Martin Coffey are due for sentence this afternoon when they appear before Judge Nicolas Cartwright.

They are charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident in Black Horse Walk in Worcester. Kiani alone is charged with theft.

Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man who assaulted his partner is among those to be sentenced today.

In the remote court at Worcester Crown Court (where counsel has to appear over link rather than in person), Paulo Bridges is due to be sentenced after he admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill against his partner at a previous hearing.

The 44-year-old of Lynn Close, Leigh Sinton, near Malvern appeared over videolink on a previous occasion.The ABH took place on August 4 this year. He had already admitted the threats to kill against the same woman when he appeared at an earlier hearing at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.

However, he denied a further charge of controlling and coercive behaviour alleged to have taken place between December 29, 2015 and August 4 this year.

We also bring you a report today on a dog that attacked two people on the same day.

The dog, called Crackers, had suffered horrendous physical abuse at the hands of a previous owner.

The couple had only had the dog 12 hours when he attacked two people in Malvern.
