HERE are some notable cases to be heard at Worcester's courts this week.

A cocaine-snorting Worcester shoplifter who tried to steal more than £1,200 from supermarkets made an obscene gesture as she walked free.

Jade Hughes of Carlisle Road, Ronkswood, made the two-fingered salute at the reporter as Worcester magistrates gave her yet another chance to turn her life around despite her complete failure to engage with probation or drug rehabilitation services. In total she stole, or attempted to steal, £1,237 worth of goods in just three months.

A meat lorry driver caught speeding at close to 100mph in his car will keep his licence while a Just Eat delivery driver with four children was banned from the road.

Marcus Hart was clocked by police driving at 98mph on the M5 at Worcester, close to 30mph above the motorway speed limit. Meanwhile, Just Eat delivery driver Gheorghe Bahica was banned because he did not have the correct insurance.

Hart, 29, a company director and professional HGV driver was behind the wheel of a Land Rover when he was captured speeding on July 12 last year, a matter proved in absence. However, he was allowed to keep his licence despite the high speed following a hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court.

A DRUG dealer turned barber made abusive sexual comments to a female police officer during an outburst in Worcester city centre.

Muddsiar Shabir, a convicted heroin and cocaine dealer, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and using threatening and abusive words or behaviour when he appeared before city magistrates yesterday.

A drunk man with a history of violence trashed a police car in Worcester as officers responded to an emergency call - but the lout was so inebriated he could not even remember doing it.Luke Harborne caused £467 of damage to West Mercia Police's Vauxhall Astra which had been driven by an officer responding to an unrelated incident at the Fownes Hotel in Worcester.

The 25-year-old of Gregory's Bank, Worcester appeared over videolink from prison at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday where he admitted causing criminal damage in November last year. The court heard how the defendant already owed the court more than £6,500 in fines before he decided to break the car's windows, including the windscreen.

A 'RECKLESS' football club kit manager caught speeding was backed up by a former Worcester City chairman who spoke on his behalf at court.

Coventry City Football Club kit manager Christopher Marsh was banned from driving when he appeared before Worcester magistrates on Wednesday.

The 51-year-old of Bronze View Coventry was clocked doing 75mph in a 50mph section of the A46 bypass at Sedgeberrow on September 11 last year.

The court heard that Marsh already had three previous convictions for speeding and nine penalty points on his licence.
