THE once luxurious Raven Hotel has appeared to have been stripped of all metal work, including bannister rails and radiators, as various items are understood to have been stolen.

And the agents behind the proposed transformation of The Raven hotel have made a desperate appeal for people not to trespass on the site as it is "potentially dangerous".

A spokesman for RCA Regeneration, which is behind the plans for the listed Raven hotel, has also revealed any scheme could now be months from appearing in front of local planners.

At the weekend a post appeared on the Spotted Droitwich Facebook group that featured a picture of the inside of the building. The post included a caption that said: "After a visual inspection of the current condition of the Raven it seems that all metalwork including copper pipes, wires, radiators, stair bannister rails etc have been stolen.

"Part of the flat roof has collapsed allowing water ingress on ground floor. There are no soft furnishings left in the building

"All in all this makes the Raven extremely hard to save as it would cost a huge amount of money to put right and even then huge parts of the building are only fit for demolition .We think that the best to hope for is part of the outer building can be saved at least."

We approached agents RCA Regeneration and asked if the firm was behind the post, but a spokesman told us it wasn't speculating it was potentially from a "trespasser" who also took the "unauthorised photograph".

The spokesman said: "The police are well aware of the continuous issues with trespass and vandalism as well as theft - the owner met the police on Saturday about it.

"All we can say is that the public need to stay out of the site, it is private property, its potentially dangerous and its fenced off and windows blocked up for good reason.

"The owners don’t want anyone to get hurt, or worse.

"The owners are continuing to pay for security measures on the site and are keen to get the planning permission in place so that they can get on with the redevelopment."

The planning application for the site is expected to be for the Raven to be partly demolished to make way for 51 new homes, while the agent was "working towards" having Brine Baths and a gin bar on the ground floor.

In the latest update the spokesman added: "We continue to work with the council to get the application over the line, but it’s a really complex site, so any application isn’t going to be a ‘rubber stamping’ exercise.

"We would dearly love to be able to report that its going to committee imminently, but its probably going to be a couple more months before that happens."

West Mercia Police was contacted for comment.
