EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to a two-year-old boy who died after a dog attack in Egdon.

Worcestershire was left shocked after police announced the toddler had died two days after the attack at a property in the village, between Worcester and Evesham.

In a press conference yesterday outside of Worcester police station on Castle Street, it was announced the boy died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Donna George, of Worcester, said: "RIP Little man fly high with the angels. You will be sadly missed by all your family and friends."

Malgorzata Jankowiak of Malvern said: "Sleep easy little Angel, our thoughts are with the family. Sending love."

"RIP little man, such a shame. Thinking about the family at this sad time," said Jodie Peglar, of Worcester.

Other people let the boy's family know that they were thinking of them after their son's death.

Nigel Crisp, of Malven, said to the family: "So sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you very much."

Tracey Weston of Worcester said: "So so sorry for your loss, take care of yourselves."

Janet Staniszewski of Kidderminster said: "Gained your wings but gone too soon. RIP little angel."

Three dogs were seized at the property after the attack, though police did not confirm the breed.

The force said they are not believed to be banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

After the attack, the boy’s family attempted to take him to the hospital themselves but stopped at Worcester Countryside Centre on the advice of the ambulance service.

He was taken from there to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance, before being moved to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

“It was quickly established the child had suffered injuries as a result of being bitten by a dog at the address in Worcestershire.

“The child was transferred from Worcestershire Royal Hospital to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and despite medical treatment, he has died as a result of his injuries.
