Organiser Mr Shaw, a 31-year-old father-of-one from Malvern, said the number of fights had to be scaled back from 30 but only because of time constraints.

He hopes the show will become one of many and some are already scheduled for the future.

Mr Shaw said: "What a pleasure and what a privilege it has been to promote this show.

"What a card we have - unbelievable and 90 per cent of those fighters are all from Worcester, Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Malvern and other places in the local area.

SKILLS: Shay Ingram and Jon Shaw have both seen action, be it in the ring or the cage. Mr Shaw now wants to foster the next generation of boxing talent.

"The emphasis and the key is to bring local fighters - the talent of the area - and showcase it on the show.

"Four of our juniors will take part in a skills bout at the beginning of the night and they're going to showcase for us what we do with the club.

"One of the key fights for me on the night we have got is the local-born Kelsey Martin Davies.

"Kelsey is going to be fighting in her second fight.

"She's a local girl and she's a girl, if I may add, that has got a lot of potential. She's only 13 years old."

FAMILY: Jon Shaw's son Oscar, all kitted out, wants to join in the training.

Clayton Scott is another young talent being fostered by DP Boxing, based in Sherriff Street in Worcester.

DP Boxing has also helped hone the boxing skills of Shay Ingram who does MMA with Renegade and has been 'tipped to make the UFC' says Mr Shaw.

"It's the best of the best of the Worcester people. I put my hand on heart and say we've got some cracking fighters on this card."
