RESIDENTS frustrated that a heavily delayed housing estate is still not finished after various promises have been told there will be another month wait.

St Modwen told us last November "final touches" were underway to Weogoran Park with a 12-week deadline set, but that deadline was missed.

In February, the developer then said it would all be completed "by March 11", but this week residents got in touch to tell us it was still not finished.

A reporter visited on Wednesday morning (April 27) and discovered the Romney Way - including the entrance to the estate off Whittington Road - is the main area still left to do.

Cars were having to slalom around two fenced off drain covers on the bend, while there were also high kerbs and pavements to finish forcing people to walk in the road.

A resident, who did not want to be named, said: "Residents are furious.

Worcester News:

"The 12 week program from November 2021 is still far from finished, and won't be until at least June."

Residents we spoke to on the estate said the deadlines set had been "broken promises", and were also raising the inconvenience that will be caused by a planned closure of the entrance road on May 6.

One told us: "We won't be able to get in and out of our homes that day - this road should have been done ages ago."

St Modwen recently sent letters to residents on the estate which said: "We would like to notify you about upcoming remedial works to the roads and footpaths.

"Footpaths will be completed between May 3-5.

Worcester News:

"Road up to 31 Romney Way will be completed May 6. This requires a road closure between the hours of 9am to 1pm, with no access in or out of the development.

"Section 278 works will commence May 3 and will be completed by the end of May.

"Four outstanding street lights will be installed May 9.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause whilst these essential works are carried out.

"Thank you in advance for your assistance."

Beltex Drive and Dalesbred Road did appear to finally have been completed with residents living there saying it was a relief.

Worcester News:

And other residents said current criticism was a little unfair on the developer as the closure to the entrance was needed to finish the roadworks.

St Modwen Homes was asked for comment but a spokesperson told us there was "no further comment to provide at this stage".
