A JUBILEE street party in Worcester was a British affair but with some added continental spice as families reunited to celebrate Her Majesty's milestone.

As many as 60 people enjoyed the Jubilee street party in Victoria Street on Friday, tucking into homemade food, playing party games and raising a glass or two to the Queen.

Attendance 'surpassed expectations' with between 50 and 60 people enjoying the fun said one of the organisers, Janine Stephens.

Mrs Stephens said: "It's a very friendly street. It's nice to be proud to British."

Her sister, Jemma Schasse, had arrived in Worcester from her home in Frankfurt to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with the family.

Nuno Pinto, 39, hails originally from Portugal but he has been here now for the last 18 years while three of his children, including two-year-old Noah Pinto, were born in the UK.

They were celebrating the Jubilee together as a family, Noah trying his hand at the lucky dip game and smiling when he drew out a prize.

Jeremy Jones was born in a house in Victoria Street in 1977 - the year of the Silver Jubilee - while his mum, Sue Jones was born in 1952, the year Elizabeth became queen.

Games included a crown parade, won by Noah, splat the rat, hook a duck, face painting and play your cards right.
