A ROMEO busker says he gets hit on by lovestruck women while playing the steelpan drums in city centres.

Jamani Stewart, 27, is a full-time steel pan busker who aims to be in a different city every day.

The musician could be spotted drumming up a crowd of fans in Worcester with his melodious and unique music.

Mr Stewart, who is originally from Great Barr, Birmingham, has been professionally busking for ten years and says sometimes women will leave him money and a note that says 'call me.'

Although the 27-year-old remained tight-lipped on whether he has ever called any of the women back, he says that his performances have also led to people buying him a drink or even lunch.

He said: "Girls might drop their numbers, they drop money and a note that says 'call me'.

"Some people buy me drinks which shows the music is touching them because sometimes I don't have to buy lunch.

"People do lots of generous acts."

The musician says he has been playing the steel pan since he was five after taking inspiration from his dad Jamma Stewart.

While growing up, Mr Stewart says he would always busk with his dad and have so much fun that he didn't realise busking was his dad's full-time job until he was 14 years old.

"I was always asking my dad, how comes he doesn't have a real job.

"I started busking on my own when I was 17 when I could drive.

"It definitely pays well, I don't have to work anywhere else.

The busker said he works from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 2pm and aims to keep his acts short, leaving his audience wanting more.

"Music can heal your body, the response I get is that I make them happy because it is like medicine.

"My purpose is not making money, it's to enjoy myself.

"The first thing is to enjoy what you do and then the money will come because you do it consistently.
