A NEW crazy golf cours is part of a shake up at a Worcester  bowling alley.

A specialist team came in to create the feature for Worcester Bowl which has opened the course in time for the influx of students in September.

Pete Terry, managing director of the company, said: “Following much needed investments in the past years, in 2022, we are investing £500k in this 16 lane bowling facility.

"We expect our changes to be complete by September ready for the student influx.

"This week we are proud to reveal our all new nine hole crazy golf course.

"Having gutted one half of the venue to make best use of the space, we got a specialist team in to create this feature and I’m sure people will enjoy the course ”

Worcester Bowl, in Bromyard Road, was taken over by Disco Bowl in February 2019 after the collapse of the MFA Bowl UK chain.

A spokesperson from Worcester Bowl said: "Since acquisition, the company has transformed this venue from a struggling underinvested tired venue to a state of the art bowling experience, and as part of a major upgrade for 2022 this week we are launching our Scrapyard Golf 9 hole golf course."

Area manager, Hayley Johnson added: “The golf course is unlike anything anyone has seen in this area.

"Based on a scrapyard theme, you can play holes which see the ball go through a toilet, skateboard, construction site and of course a bowling alley.

"Bookings are already open online and based on our preview sessions our customers are going to love it. ”

Some of the other changes in this latest round of refurbishment will include new lighting and sound, a revamped arcade and karaoke rooms, all due to be completed next month.

Commenting on the changes, general manager Charlotte Reynolds said: “When I found out what was happening at Worcester Bowl, I transferred from the company’s Nottingham site and moved to the city as I wanted to be at the helm of this exciting new start for the centre.

"We’ve reformatted the venue to be more customer friendly and I cant wait to welcome old and young alike to experience it.”

Worcester Bowl is open every day from 10am and now trades until 11pm at weekends.
