A WORLD record attempt for the most dogs at an outdoor cinema screening is set to take place this weekend.

Rachel Marie, owner of Coco & Yogi's dog walking service, is inviting more than 120 dogs and their owners to watch 101 Dalmations to break the world record of the most dogs at an outdoor cinema screening.

Brazil currently holds the world record after gathering 120 dogs to watch Pets 2 in 2019, but Miss Marie is hoping to surpass that on Sunday, September 11 at Perdiswell Leisure Centre on Bilford Road in Worcester.

The event is set to be held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre, on Bilford Road, this weekend.

Rachel is in the final stages of planning the event and her excitement for the big day has been building.

She said:" Now that the day is almost upon us, it is really starting to feel like this is in our reach and we stand a real chance of beating the previous record.

"The worry is whether or not we will have enough dogs on the day which I am praying we will."

Rachel said that dog owners are able to turn up on the day itself to contribute to the grand total, as long as they are properly registered.

She said:" People are able to turn up on the day but they need to ensure that they are registering the dog with us and the vet on site.

"As long as the dog is over one year old and the breed is registered, they will be ok to be involved in the event.

"Bring your dog, your friend's dog, your nan's dog and any other family dogs you can."

The 23-year-old previously said she wants to raise money for charity at the event.

She also said friends and clients have been very supportive of her idea.

She said: "I have had the support of my friends and clients, but I'm proud to have organised the event by myself."

Miss Marie reveals that she has always had an itch for adventure and has previously jumped out of a plane to raise money for charity.

"When I was 18, I jumped out of a plane for charity, I'll always have something I want to achieve and do."
