DOG foster 'parents' are needed to look after dogs in need of a new home in the face of the cost of living crisis.

Dogs Trust Evesham is appealing for volunteer foster “pawrents” for dogs in need as the charity receives a record number of calls from people looking to rehome their dogs.

The team are holding a drop-in event at the Dogs Trust Evesham rehoming centre, 89 Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford WR11 7RT, on Friday, October 7 between 2pm and 3.30pm.

It is aimed at people who would love to have a dog in their life but cannot welcome a dog into their home permanently.

Sarah Galvin, co-ordinator of the Home from Home fostering scheme, said:    “Over recent months, we have received a record number of calls from people needing to rehome their dogs in the face of the new cost of everyday living."

Foster carers need to be over the age of 18, preferably have an adult-only home and be around for most of the day.

As the dogs will need to visit the rehoming centre to meet potential new owners, fosters need to have their own car and live within an hour’s journey of the centre.

Refreshments will be provided.  If you would like more information, please email Sarah Galvin at hfhevesham@dogstrust.org.uk
