A 14-year-old troublemaker has been named by police after a spate of bad behaviour earned him a city centre ban.

Reece Hallett, of Ronkswood, Worcester cannot enter large swathes of the city unless he is accompanied by a parent or guardian after he was made subject to a criminal behaviour order (CBO) on Wednesday.

The CBO was applied for following his 'involvement in significant antisocial behaviour committed in Worcester, particularly the city centre'.

However, the map also shows the restrictions apply to parts of St John's, including Cripplegate Park. The restrictions apply to the city centre including the High Street; the Cathedral; the Hive and Lowesmoor.

The CBO was made for 12 months and stipulates that he is prohibited from:

  • Entering Worcester City Centre as defined in the map unless accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Being with six named individuals in a public place

Insp Tanya Beckett of the Safer Neighbourhood Teams in Worcester said the CBO was imposed in response to an increase in youth-related crime and anti-social behaviour.

She said: "Worcester Safer Neighbourhood teams have increased visibility within the city centre and suburbs and are working through a collaborative partnership response to support those at risk of criminal exploitation.

"Mr Hallett has contributed to that increase and whilst teams try and work with families to educate young people away from crime and anti-social behaviour, those who persistently seek to cause harm to our communities can expect a more robust and effective response that holds them to account through the criminal justice system."
